Footloose.

Movie Information:
"Writer/Director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) delivers a new take of the beloved 1984 classic film. Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont's local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister's troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process."

Running Time: 1hr 53min
Genre: Musical & Performing Arts

The chemistry and sexiness of the characters have just hooked all viewers without a doubt - Me especially!! Definitely on the top of the 'to watch list'. Get ready to cut loose! Beastly

Movie Information:
"Beastly is an edgy teen romance about learning how to see past false surfaces to discover true inner beauty. Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer) has it all - looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity - and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating "aggressively unattractive" classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), inviting her to the school's extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is - a task he considers impossible. Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle's callous father (Peter Krause) banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper (LisaGay Hamilton) and blind tutor (Neil Patrick Harris). As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens) if she will consent to live in Kyle's Brooklyn home. Thus begins Kyle's journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" story."

Running Time: 1 hour and 26 minutes
Genre: Drama, Romance, Fantasy

KES Rating: 1/5
With two good-looking and high profiled young stars, this movie was a big disappointment. The acting didn't feel real and it was a poor adaptation of the classic, "Beauty and the Beast." The plot was predictable, and just plain crap. Utterly disappointed.

Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Movie Information:
"At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream-good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his "perfect" life quickly unravels. Worse, in today's single world, Cal, who hasn't dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth. Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling)."

Running Time: 1hr 57min
Genre: Drama, Romance, Comedy

KES Rating: 4.7/5
Who doesn't love a good chick flick? Come to think of it, there's no way that this movie can be disliked. With minimal criticism, 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' is definitely a movie to see. With witty comment that will keep you laughing, and heart felt scenes that will just sweep you off your feet - merely due to the reality of the scenario and the chemistry the characters develop - you won't be able to help but 'aww' throughout the entire film. A great film to watch with your girlfriends, if not, drag your boyfriend along to teach him a thing or two about the dating scene. Without a doubt, a cute movie that will not disappoint.

Running time: 1 hour and 55 minutes

KES Rating: 3/5
What made this movie exciting was that the lead star, Chris Hemsworth was an actor from our home, Australia. His acting skills has made us proud. However the transition between an iconic comic book to movie screen wasn't the greatest in comparison to other sequels of the Avengers such as the Hulk and Iron Man. This is a good movie to watch for those Avenger fanatics, and just remember to stay until the end for a surprise and special sneakpeak of other Avenger movies!

KES Rating: 3/5
Smurfalicious! The well known Smurfs from the Smurf Village have finally hit the big screen! The big 3D screen to be exact! In accordance to other movie critiques, this Smurfin' movie has provided laughter and dissapointment. Animation and graphics have definitely pleased the crowd, however the plot and flow of the movie unfortunately failed to excite at times. Nonetheless, with never ending 'smurfy' quotes - from the schtroumpf language - children of the younger age group will surely enjoy and leave the cinema with smiling faces.
Have a Smurfin' good time!

Zoo Keeper.

Movie Information:
"In Zookeeper, the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes (Kevin James). The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk! To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship - animal style."

Running Time: 1hr 41min
Genre: Comedy, Romance

KES Rating: 1.7/5
With so many things to pick on, the question really is .. where to start?! Having only shed a few sympathetic giggles, and a couple of smirks here and there, the characters in the film unfortunately failed to deliver. On top of that, having such a predictable script did not help at all. A cute attempt, but definitely not a pleaser. Pre-teenage kids may enjoy the fictional persona's of the talking animals, but other than that, a poor production with a disapointing plot.

Rise of the Planet Apes

Movie Information:
"A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other -- and to the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate."

Running Time: 2 hours

Genre:  Drama, Action, Adventure, Science Fiction & Fantasy

KES Rating: 3.5/5
With alot of anticipation for this movie, a jaw-dropping movie was expected especially with alot of positive remarks from peers. "Rise of the Planet Apes" has turned fantasy into reality with it's detailed animations. The visual effects, along with the drama unfolding within the movie truly brought upon emotions whilst watching the film. However, the plot and storyline was predictable.

Friends with Benefits

Movie Information:
"Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) think it's going to be easy to add the simple act of sex to their friendship, despite what Hollywood romantic comedies would have them believe. They soon discover however that getting physical really does always lead to complications."

Running Time: 107 Minutes
Genre: Comedy, Romantic Comedy

KES Rating: 4/5
At first we were worried about if this movie was going to be very similar to Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman's "No Strings Attached," but this movie definitely delivered on a higher level. The chemistry between Justin and Mila made this movie a delight to watch, where its plot and humor perfectly blended together. KES recommends to watch this movie with your group of mates, girlfriends, and even your partner. Warning: do not watch with parents! (Awkward)
